Dr. Donna completed her undergraduate studies in Biochemistry with a Minor in Biotechnology at California State University of Fullerton. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University. Even before she started her professional pediatric career, Dr. Donna sought out work in the pediatric field, volunteering at the physical therapy department at Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) and also at an early intervention clinic in Fountain Valley during undergrad. In grad school, she experienced multiple pediatric internships with California Children Services (CCS) where she learned how to work with a multidisciplinary team, order and adjust equipment, as well as treat the multiple diagnoses that CCS providers care for. She also received the Fred B. Moore Award for Outstanding Clinical Performance, won the Student research Award, and received her doctorate with honors. After passing her boards and obtaining her physical therapy license to practice in CA, Dr. Donna worked as a director at a pediatric outpatient clinic in LA as well as an acute inpatient therapist at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. (CHLA). When her family decided to move to San Diego, she decided to continue to work in the hospital setting at Rady's Childrens Hospital. During her time at Rady's, she worked in the outpatient setting for pediatrics and orthopedics, was a clinical instructor, and also assisted in multiple grant programs, C3 and Kidstart. She was awarded Employee of Excellence in 2013 for her grant work and commitment to her field. In the Fall of 2017, Dr. Donna decided to venture into home based early intervention through Regional Center as well as contract as a school based physical therapist for Oceanside school district. Her time in the schools and home settings opened her eyes to the multiple levels of therapy settings her patients experience. Dr. Donna aims to be a bridge between the medical/home/and school based services. After 17 years working and learning from multiple physical therapy settings, Dr. Donna decided it was finally time to start her own business venture with her sister who is an Occupational Therapist.... thus DAP therapy was created.
Dr. Donna is married to her high school sweetheart for 18 years and has high school aged and elementary school aged daughters. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family as well as her large extended family. She is also fur mom to Ozzie the goldendoodle and Jewels the lop-eared bunny.
